A motorhome aire in Málaga is a site set up for spending the night in your motorhome and using the services: filling up with fresh water, emptying grey water and the chemical toilet and, at many of them, plugging into electric hook-up. In the province there are private aires registered with the Junta de Andalucía, port aires run by the Andalusian public network and campsites that take motorhomes, mostly spread along the coast from La Cala del Moral to Nerja, with Ronda as the main option inland.
This guide brings together the ones we've been able to check in official sources, with their location, what they offer and the distance from Torrox-Costa, where Milucar is. It isn't an exhaustive list: new aires open and others change their conditions, so before you go always check the website or official listing we link to.
Aire, campsite or car park: what's what in Andalusia
Before looking at the map, it's worth being clear about three categories, because the rules and what you can do at each one are different:
- Motorhome overnight aire. The Decree 26/2018 of the Junta de Andalucía regulates it as a type of tourist campsite. Registered aires have a number in the Andalusian Tourism Register (in Málaga they start with CM/MA) and appear on the official portal andalucia.org.
- Campsite. Takes motorhomes, caravans and tents, and usually has more facilities (pool, bar, bungalows).
- Car park. In a street or car park you can park your motorhome like any other vehicle, but not camp. The DGT (Spanish traffic authority) instruction on motorhomes makes it clear: you're parked if the vehicle only touches the ground with its wheels, takes up no more space than when closed up (no awning, tables or chairs) and doesn't discharge fluids or make noise outside. On top of that, each town council can restrict where and when you can park.
So if you want to put out the awning, eat outside or stay several days, what you're looking for is an aire or a campsite, not a car park.

It's at Avenida del Peñoncillo 61, next to the N-340 coast road (exit 940 of the A-7), with the beach less than 100 metres away, and it's open 365 days a year. It's run by Marcelle and Martijn, a family who live in Torrox-Costa and opened it in 2017.

- Gravel pitches of about 50 m², XL pitches for motorhomes up to about 12 m and front-row “Balcón” pitches with water and drainage on the pitch itself.
- 16 A electric hook-up with a CEE plug, paid by metered consumption.
- Service point for emptying grey water and chemical toilets and filling up with water, Wi-Fi included, showers, and professional washing machine and tumble dryer.
- Fenced site with a barrier, cameras and night-time lighting. Pets welcome (maximum two per pitch).
It isn't a campsite: there's no restaurant or pool and tents aren't allowed. For long stays there's a low-season discount from 30 nights; you'll find the details under rates.
Ipark Autocaravanas Caleta de Vélez
The aire is part of the Andalusian Network of Motorhome Areas, which the Andalusian Public Ports Agency has set up in its ports and which is run by Ipark. According to the aire's listing, it has 33 open-air spaces (31 for vehicles up to 8 m and 2 up to 10 m), is open 24 hours all year round and includes drinking water, grey and black water disposal, hot showers and toilets. Electricity (6 A) is optional and there's no Wi-Fi or laundry. Payment is by card only and you can book by the day on its website or app.

El Rincón, in Rincón de la Victoria
A registered overnight aire (CM/MA/00078) about 500 metres from the beach, in a residential area with bus and taxi services. Its listing on andalucia.org lists 35 spaces, year-round opening, 24-hour security, washing machine, tumble dryer, Wi-Fi and a small shop with local products and motorhome spare parts.
Área Málaga Beach, in La Cala del Moral
This is the closest to Málaga city from the east: it faces La Cala del Moral beach, about ten minutes from the historic centre according to its official listing (registration CM/MA/00087). On its website they advertise opening 365 days a year, electric hook-up on the pitch, water filling and emptying, hot showers, Wi-Fi in the shared marquee, CCTV and pets allowed.

Camping Nerja, in Maro
It's not an aire but the campsite in the municipality of Nerja, on the N-340 at km 296, at the foot of the Sierra de Almijara. Its official listing (CM/MA/00022) mentions 51 shaded terraced pitches, 16 A electricity and a pool, and opening all year except October. Check dates before you go.
Ronda: the inland option
If your route heads up into the mountains, the Área de pernocta Ciudad de Ronda (CM/MA/00088) is at Calle Torero Francisco Romero 2, next to Civil Protection and the Local Police. According to its listing, it's about 10 minutes' walk from the shopping area and 25 from the Tajo gorge, with a bus stop 150 metres away. It has a double service platform for filling and emptying, a chemical toilet station, showers and toilets, washing machines and tumble dryers, Wi-Fi, electric hook-ups on the pitches, 24-hour cameras and a dog area.
How to choose a motorhome aire in the province
- To see Málaga city: the most practical option is an aire near the city with a bus service, or leaving the motorhome at your base and using public transport. It's not worth driving a large vehicle into central Málaga.
- For overwintering: look for electricity, laundry facilities and long-stay discounts, and a town that's lively all year round. Torrox-Costa, Nerja and Rincón de la Victoria all are.
- For a one-night stopover: an aire with quick servicing, like the port ones, sorts out emptying and filling with no hassle.
- For trips around the Axarquía: Torrox-Costa is about 10 minutes from Nerja and Torrox Pueblo, 20 from Frigiliana and 30 from Cómpeta.
From Milucar: what's within reach
If you choose Torrox-Costa as your base, most things to do on the eastern Costa del Sol are less than half an hour away. Some driving times for reference:
| Destination | Distance | Approx. time |
|---|---|---|
| Nerja centre | About 7 km | 10 min |
| Cueva de Nerja | About 11 km | 15 min |
| Frigiliana | About 12 km | 20 min |
| Torre del Mar | About 21 km | 20 min |
| Málaga centre | About 52 km | 45 min |
| Málaga Airport | About 69 km | 1 hr 05 |
For Málaga or Granada you don't need to move the motorhome: the bus stops right outside the aire on the coast road, and ALSA buses run from Torrox-Costa station to both cities. For ideas nearby, see what to see in Torrox and the route Nerja, Maro and Frigiliana in a day.
